Valeria was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She obtained her B.A. from the University of New Mexico in Spanish and Sociology with a concentration in Law, and her Masters in Latin American Studies from the same institution. Valeria obtained her J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law, where she interned for the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center and worked on immigration cases in the UNM School of Law’s Community Lawyering Clinic. Valeria also served as a board member of the Mexican American Law Student Association and was president during her 3L year. Upon graduating from law school, Valeria practiced civil litigation where she refined her legal writing and researching skills, but she knew her heart was in immigration law, leading her to join Rebecca Kitson Law in the fall of 2019. Valeria is a daughter of Mexican immigrant parents, and her professional and life experiences will help guide her as she serves clients. Valeria speaks Spanish fluently.
